Chiara Armentano's Bio-Filmography
  
Chiara Armentano started studying film theory at Bologna's University (Italy) in 1999.
In 2005 she was enrolled in the Ph.D program in Film Studies at the same university. After defending her dissertation about American Cinema, Chiara moved to the United States to start classes in film production and filmmaking at different universities (UCLA – University of California, Los Angeles; USC (University of Southern California) and Digital Film Academy (NYC).
In Italy she directed her first documentary called "The Rubble"(2010). In the same year she directed with Jason Filmore the short film "Wake", shot in Los Angeles in 16mm. The film would go on to win the award as "Best Experimental Film" at the Mountain Film Festival (California).
Now Chiara currently lives in New York where she works as film scholar, film director and film editor.

 Chiara Armentano inizia a studiare teoria del film all'Universita' di Bologna (DAMS) nel 1999.
Nel 2005 inizia il dottorato di ricerca in Studi Teatrali e Cinematografici presso la stessa universita' e discute la sua tesi nel luglio 2008. Esperta di cinema americano, Chiara si trasferisce negli Stati Uniti dove frequenta corsi di film production e filmmaking presso varie universita' (UCLA, University of California, Los Angeles; USC (University of Southern California) e Digital Film Academy (NYC).
In Italia ha diretto il suo primo documentario "Le macerie. The Rubble. Baracche Ribelli" nel 2010, su un posto occupato in Puglia. Nello stesso anno dirige con Jason Filmore il cortometraggio "Wake" ("Risveglio"), girato a Los Angeles in pellicola 16mm. Il film vince il premio come "miglior film sperimentale" al Mountain Film Festival (California).
Chiara vive a New York dove continua a lavorare come accademica, cineasta e montatrice.
